Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chambers, Eagle Idaho

When standard medicine is not working, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at our Eagle Idaho center can improve the quality of life for a patient in many areas. Hyperbaric oxygen is used to treat all conditions which benefit from increased tissue oxygen availability, as well as infections where it can be used for its antibiotic properties, either as the primary therapy or in conjunction with other drugs.

Conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, stroke, head injuries, and chronic fatigue have responded most favorably with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is used to stimulate healing by delivering oxygen at an elevated atmospheric pressure. Pressurized oxygen enhances healing by promoting the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), activating cells important for wound healing, and fighting infection by enhancing the effectiveness of antibiotics.

When lungs and body absorb more oxygen with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, it stimulates the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing and tissue growth.

The appropriate oxygen levels in the tissues and cells are what help to promote healing. Without proper oxygen levels, healing cannot take place. Many illnesses and injuries fail to heal because of inadequate oxygen levels. Inflammation, swelling, and reduced blood flow contribute to non-healing. This means adequate oxygen is unable to reach the damaged area. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy causes increased oxygen under pressure, which provides this extra oxygen to tissue and cells with minimal side effects. HBOT treats the cumulative wounds of life.

YOU CAN FEEL BETTER THAN EVER!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do to prepare for a treatment?

People can go into the chamber fully clothed. It is recommended to wear loose comfortable clothing. Shoes, jewelry or any sharp objects should be removed before getting into the chamber.

How will the HBOT treatment feel?

The chamber will be filled with compressed air and oxygen. While the chamber is pressurizing, your ears will feel the change in pressure inside the chamber. Otherwise, it should be unnoticeable. To equalize the pressure and avoid the feeling of fullness in your ears, you will need to clear your ears by chewing gum, swallowing or yawning. During the pressurization of the chamber, your mouth may become dry. Once the chamber is fully pressurized, your salivation will return to normal.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effect is a discomfort to the ears caused by pressure changes. To minimize the risk, patients learn to promote the adequate clearing of ears during pressurization. Some patients may feel tired and dizzy after using the hyperbaric chamber for the first time. It is a good signal as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy will speed up the metabolism of our body. Just like people feel tired after a long run. These are usually good signs of indicating detoxification.

How can I learn about HBOT?

The most comprehensive book about HBOT is The Oxygen Revolution by Paul Harch, MD. The book is geared toward consumers who would like to learn more about how HBOT works and what conditions it treats. The book explored the science behind HBOT, as well as case histories of patients who have benefited from HBOT.
