Anti Aging Microneedling in Eagle Idaho

The Treatment:

The Rejuvapen treatment is a microneedling treatment we offer here in Eagle, Idaho that stimulates the production of collagen in the skin.  Since microneedling enhances the production of collagen, the treatment can reverse the signs of sun damage, improve the appearance of acne scars, stretch marks, and hyper-pigmentation. Fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced and an overall healthier appearance of the skin will occur.

Areas to Treat:

Microneedling can be used on all skin parts of the body (neck, décolleté, arms, legs and face.)

What is the Downtime?

Typically the healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin and the depth of the procedure. Most commonly there may be some redness that resembles a​ mild sunburn. This may last for 2-4 days. Some patients may have the redness dissipate within 24 hours.  The skin will be pink or red in appearance for 24-48 hours, much like a sunburn with some minor bleeding and very occasionally some mild bruising. The skin may also feel warm, tight, and itchy for a short while. Generally, the inflammatory reaction of the skin is short and fades significantly after a couple of days. Patients with a more sensitive skin type or older patients may take longer to fully recover.

Right after the procedure: mild to moderate swelling, stinging, burning, redness,  and some pinpoint bleeding may occur.​

First 24 hours: Lessening of the redness, tiny red dots, skin feels slightly dry, and itchy.
Days 1-2: Further lessening of the redness and red dots, minor flaking, less itching, and dryness.
Days 3-4: Mild pinkness and some dry skin.
Day 5 and after: Full recovery with normal skin.

Aftercare:

Use tepid water to cleanse the face for the first 48 hours following treatment and drying the area gently without rubbing. Always use clean hands to avoid infection. Avoid applying makeup products for the first 12 hours following treatment. Your provider will advise you on use of appropriate, gentle skincare following the treatment.

It can take between 6-8 weeks before visible signs of skin regeneration are seen and the process will continue to evolve over the ensuing months providing a gradual improvement.

Who is a Candidate?

Microneedling is a treatment that can be used on almost any skin type.  

Microneedling: 

Not good candidates for Microneedling:

• Have used Accutane within the last 3 months or active acne
• Have open wounds, cuts, or abrasions
• Have had radiation treatments to the skin within the last year or skin cancer
• Have any kind of current skin infection, condition, herpes simplex in the area to be treated
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing

• Raised surfaces (moles or warts on the target area)
• Rosacea, Eczema, or Psoriasis

When will you see Results?

Patients may notice healthier-looking skin right away. However, keep in mind that dermal collagen remodeling occurs over time and it would not be realistic to expect damage that has happened to the skin over a long period of time to disappear right away. 

We suggest a series of 4-6 sessions depending on what the treatment is for. Sessions are usually spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Each session takes between 30-60 minutes. Individuals may not see final results until 3-6 months following the last appointment.
